Georgia National Fair

I never really cared too much about the fair, except when I was a child.

When you have a child, they teach you how to be a kid again.

I am now...all about the fair!

We ate ourselves big. I tasted a little lot of everything.

Even grotesque-looking corndogs...that resembled, well, you use your imagination.

And there were so many beautiful candy apples that I had a hard time choosing. I eventually decided on an old-fashioned candy apple--Granny Smith with caramel and nuts. If I had it my way, I would have chosen one of every flavor, minus the Georgia one of course. I'd have rather starved...

Kyndall loved playing the games...and I did too! She seen the duck game from her stroller and started screaming "Dus, Dus" and pointing frantically. We took her over to the swimming duckies and let her pick 3 for 5 bucks.

At first she kept picking them up and throwing them back in the water, I finally had to grab them from her before she had a chance to put them back. She picked a small, medium and large. The carne-girl said it was rare for someone to get that (I think it's because they only have one "large" labeled duckie floating around.) The carne-girl let Kyndall have her choice of prizes because she said she was so cute. What a nice carne-girl. Kyndall picked a bright, pink "Baw" (ball). Her MeMaw won her a "Pupp-eeee" from another game and she hugged it nonstop.

Flying drumsticks! That is what was almost the cause of death to my camera as I tried to grab a shot of these awesome guys!

These guys were so fun to watch. You can youtube a video of 'The Procrastinators' from gotdrummers. Kyndall and her cousins were mesmerized when these guys performed. I must admit I was totally into it, there might have been some toe-tapping, a little head-bobbing.

I can't wait until Kyndall can ride some of the little kiddy rides next year. She could only ride a few but she watched mommy make a fool of herself from the stroller.

Oh look! It's my classic face!

Notice I am just sitting on 'The Green Monster' slide...and not sliding. Yea, the great carne-lady tucked my tater-sack under some metal in which it got stuck! So, when me and my niece were all-set-and-ready-go she went "go" and I went as far as my arms pushed me...which was about 5 or 6 feet. I couldn't move without my tater-sack so carne-lady had to throw it down to me. Everyone was laughing at me...thanks carne-lady. Notice I have my arms thrown up in the "WTH? Where's my tater-sack? Why ain't I sliding?" motion. Oh, and my niece...look at her...having the time of her life!

I can't wait for the fair to come back next year. Never thought I'd say that.

Thank you Kyndall for teaching me that not everything matters, to always laugh, to always smile and to have fun with everything you do. I love you for this. Thank you for my one-thousand-plus smiles a day.
